The Tropical museum is a Dutch ethnographic museum at the Linnaeus street in Amsterdam with a large collection of ethnographic artifacts from the tropical and subtropical regions.

The Tropical museum includes both traditional and contemporary (art) objects, sound clips and video, and provides a picture of both the living traditions and the history of different world cultures.

The core of the Tropical museum form the merged collections of the 19th century Colonial Museum in Haarlem and the old collections of the Ethnographic Museum Artis .

The collection contains more than 175,000 objects and 80,000 historical photographs. Besides paintings, the collection includes a collection of textiles from Indonesia and many objects from New Guinea and Suriname.
