Amsterdam North Museum
The museum is housed in the former town bath house of Vogeldorp since 2009. This village was built in 1918/19 to help solve the housing problem in Amsterdam. Because it was thought that the housing shortage would be over quickly Vogeldorp not piled. It stands on concrete slabs. It was not just an emergency village, but also a garden village. The ideas of Ebenezer Howard about the need for green for workers were taken and each house had a garden. For showers was no money nor space, but the city council say that they had to wash once a week. That is why this Bathhouse is built.
Village and Bath were recently restored and have been given the status of a municipal monument. The architectural style is called the national variant of the Amsterdam School. Therefore, the bath house has the shape of a farmhouse.
