Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam
Foam (FOtografiemuseum AMsterdam) is a photography museum on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. The museum presents changing exhibitions which all kinds of photographic genres are displayed, such as historical photographs, art pictures, news photos and fashion photos. In addition to major exhibitions in which the work of famous photographers, Foam has a special focus on current issues in photography and for work of emerging talent.
In addition to a bookstore Foam has a café and a library. Furthermore, the museum has its own English-language magazine, Foam Magazine, which comes out quarterly. Foam also has its own retail space at Vijzelstraat called & Foam where FoamEditions - work of young photographers - sold and thematic exhibitions are shown.
The building on the Keizersgracht 609 (near the Vijzelstraat) consists of three different buildings that are connected via air bridges, covered courtyards and staircases with each other.
