Amsterdam Pipe Museum
In the cozy atmosphere of a historic Amsterdam canal house, Amsterdam Pipe Museum shows an overview of fashion and design in smoke pipes. The exhibition covers a period of 2,500 years, with particular objects from five continents. The collection is the life work of a serious collector who brought in forty years the world's most renowned pipe collection together.
The museum shows the pipe from its origins among American Indians more than 500 years BC to the present. Ranging from the famous long Gouda clay pipe artistic and pipes from the nineteenth century, carved from meerschaum and wood. Beautifully hand painted porcelain pipe bowls with miniatures from the German language. Especially the French smokers are known for the small works of art which they smoked their tobacco.
