The Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam is a theatre building at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam with a neo-Renaissance appearance. The Stadsschouwburg is a national monument since 1982, it dominates the Western side of the Leidseplein (Leidse Square).

Inside the beautiful theatre - The Stadsschouwburg

The Stadsschouwburg on the Leidseplein is a neo-Renaissance building. It is the third City Theatre of Amsterdam. The two previous theaters were burned down. The current theatre was built from 1892 to 1894 to a design by Jan Springer (1850 – 1915).


Cafe-restaurant Stanislavski

Stanislavski, the café-restaurant of the Municipal Theatre, is a meeting place of actors, theatre and city visitors.
