Paradiso Rock Music Venue

Built out of an 18th century church located in de Weteringschans near the Leidseplein and opened in 1968, Paradiso is one of Amsterdam's most well-known concert venue, with a large stage overlooked by two balconies who wraps around the dance floor and large glass church windows. The venue is split into the 1500-capacity main hall and the 250-capacity small hall.

Over the last 40 years it has attracted a wide range of creative talents and nowadays hosts most of the big performers who come to the Dutch capital. Paradiso also maintains a strong cultural ethos, hosting exhibitions in the fields of art, literature and film.

In March 1968 Paradiso opened its doors to the public. Even in the first months well-known groups performed such as Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things and Captain Beefheart. So Paradiso soon got the stamp 'Pop Temple'. The popular club is now Amsterdam's most important and legendary concert hall. All the main pop, rock and punk icons have performed in this old church.
